TV? You mean screen? So the mentioned computer next to the bed is a notebook - fully equipped. Everything is connected via WLAN in the network including the printer. Don't ask how my husband does it!

I meant the television, it needs antenna cable, HDMI cable, speaker cable, and normally all stationary devices, like PC towers or printers, are better connected via cable. WLAN is better used only for mobile devices...

Temporarily is an understatement. It's been 6 months now and no end in sight. Of course - the space was just coincidentally available. The housing shortage is partly a catastrophe in some cities. Try to get an affordable apartment in Dresden if you don't want to live in an asylum shelter. With a baby, you have no chance.

But of course it's nonsense to plan based on that, especially since no children were even expected. Unless you have the money...

So granting a "rental subsidy" of a few hundred euros for 2-3 years is certainly cheaper than building and maintaining 70 sqm of living space permanently...

Well, with us I rather have the feeling that there's some computer standing around everywhere. Whether PC or notebook, the performance difference is now barely noticeable. I’m not saying I like it. It just developed that way.
So, whether living room, bedroom, or in the bathtub – you can be online everywhere here. Except in the garden – that doesn’t work, haha. Lucky, isn’t it?

Well, 70m² for such an emergency seems quite generous to me. 40 should be enough. Mom's house is still connected anyway. The few hundred are probably cheaper, of course. However, one must not forget that the parents are secretly delighted that their dear daughter is back home. And the grandchild is also very close this way... Very practical. But it is not a permanent solution either.
