How much extra costs it would really be for a single-story building solution is unclear. With a clever layout, you save yourself quite a bit of circulation space, although your desire for strong room separation (separate kitchen, separate offices) in this case costs extra. You can take a look yourself. There is potentially savings to be made with the garage, which accounts for a relatively high cost share in your design given the tight budget.

The kitchen is hardly furnishable, the house feels boring.

A bungalow for two would be nice, we also have one, no up and down stairs. You just have to be a bit more creative and not put a box like every other one.

A bungalow with approximately 124 sqm will offer more comfort than the gable roof house. It will not be more expensive at these dimensions. Does it have to be built with Heinz von Heiden or would another general contractor also be possible? What about a regional general contractor?

Also possible is a small bungalow (due to the narrow plot width) with a rectangular floor plan with a bedroom and bathroom downstairs and with a 30-degree pitched roof, two studio rooms as offices in the attic. All simple, unadorned design. The chosen Dattek roof variant with the 45-degree roof is actually a space miracle floor plan for a family of 3-4 people. There is no fun living there. ... I already said that in my first post: if that is what you want and you think it suits you, then that is okay. If you have been dealing with houses for four decades, then you are not the target group for this house.

I would definitely orient it parallel to the street. Firstly, you get a better south orientation, secondly, the house doesn't stand so crooked on the property (view directly into the garden instead of towards the street), and thirdly, you can have a wooden garage custom-built and have the best storage space in the angled part. We also have a trapezoidal garage built with a wooden frame construction and attached it directly to the house. It was only slightly more expensive than a prefabricated garage. Others have already said quite a bit about your floor plan. I also find the living-dining area very unfortunate, quite narrow. Since I am not a fan of bungalows, especially on smaller plots (less privacy, sleeping on the ground floor with the window open , too much lost yard, usually more expensive, ...) I would stick with a normal gable roof house. If you want the living-dining room in the west and the kitchen in the south, the house has to be more square to get rid of the "narrowness."
