I actually quite like the light strips... where they fit and where a lot of light comes into the room through other windows, and I don't like that here. On the south side, the windows would definitely be too small and/or too few for me. Overall, I would make the windows bigger here. That was the first thing that caught my eye in the exterior views.
A solution for the extractor hood would be the Bora system.
They are really phenomenal (but also not cheap). The patent is currently expiring; there are other solutions of this kind. If that would be an option for you, you can have a look. I actually find a cooktop on an island accessible from multiple sides a good solution because you can cook there easily with several people. If you like that, of course. The tall cabinets don't necessarily have to be against a wall; you can also nicely cover the back and, for example, create a pinboard for children's drawings, photos, etc. If this wall stub has no structural function, I would leave it out altogether and position the cabinets freely. That looks lighter since they don’t go up to the ceiling, and planning is more flexible (kitchens are supposed to be changed again after a few decades anyway).
A large additional work table in the living room wouldn't be my thing either, but you already said you have it like that and want to keep it that way. So I won’t comment on that. I would, however, possibly place it differently, as well as the couch, which just stands unmotivated in the middle of the room here. I find the arrangement of the couch, TV, and additional work table overall suboptimal. The space behind the couch is simply wasted, dead space; the couch just stands there as if it randomly fell from the sky. So it wouldn’t be mine, but as they say, man’s will is his paradise. For me, the couch stands so that you can really only watch TV there. Well, if you only want to watch TV, that might work, but I personally also like to look out the window and have a glass of wine, which wouldn’t be possible here at all. For me, the couch would be better placed against the inner wall, the work table then in the corner (basically with its back to the WC), and the TV on the wall between the two windows. That would also have the advantage that you could possibly watch TV from the dining table as well. It might also be an idea to install a TV connection on both sides to keep all options open.
