The light strips used there have a size of 200 x 85, I have already seen them live several times, in my opinion that does not look like basement.

The window openings are 85 cm high, the pure glass surface height will be about 65 cm later, possibly 70 cm. Parapet height 130 or 135 cm, plus windowsill and window frame, i.e. only from a body height of about 160 cm can one see out of the window. The eyes are somewhat lower, so it is not the pure body height that matters. I would call that already a basement feeling.

There is little light coming from the south, especially in summer. And, it is also the main room in the house.

I am also not a fan of the loopholes at all.. we do have high, wide window surfaces, but they are in the bathroom, pantry, hallway - with cupboards underneath, and a guest room, which received this window additionally and not instead.

I actually quite like the light strips... where they fit and where a lot of light comes into the room through other windows, and I don't like that here. On the south side, the windows would definitely be too small and/or too few for me. Overall, I would make the windows bigger here. That was the first thing that caught my eye in the exterior views.

A solution for the extractor hood would be the Bora system.

They are really phenomenal (but also not cheap). The patent is currently expiring; there are other solutions of this kind. If that would be an option for you, you can have a look. I actually find a cooktop on an island accessible from multiple sides a good solution because you can cook there easily with several people. If you like that, of course. The tall cabinets don't necessarily have to be against a wall; you can also nicely cover the back and, for example, create a pinboard for children's drawings, photos, etc. If this wall stub has no structural function, I would leave it out altogether and position the cabinets freely. That looks lighter since they don’t go up to the ceiling, and planning is more flexible (kitchens are supposed to be changed again after a few decades anyway).

A large additional work table in the living room wouldn't be my thing either, but you already said you have it like that and want to keep it that way. So I won’t comment on that. I would, however, possibly place it differently, as well as the couch, which just stands unmotivated in the middle of the room here. I find the arrangement of the couch, TV, and additional work table overall suboptimal. The space behind the couch is simply wasted, dead space; the couch just stands there as if it randomly fell from the sky. So it wouldn’t be mine, but as they say, man’s will is his paradise. For me, the couch stands so that you can really only watch TV there. Well, if you only want to watch TV, that might work, but I personally also like to look out the window and have a glass of wine, which wouldn’t be possible here at all. For me, the couch would be better placed against the inner wall, the work table then in the corner (basically with its back to the WC), and the TV on the wall between the two windows. That would also have the advantage that you could possibly watch TV from the dining table as well. It might also be an idea to install a TV connection on both sides to keep all options open.
