By ready-mixed concrete I meant the premix. Ready-mix concrete is more for larger projects. There are various calculators where you can calculate the savings from mixing yourself. Of course, if you still have to rent a machine, it eventually doesn’t pay off. But in the new development area, a neighbor probably has one. On the other hand, you also don’t want to mix mortar for 20 fence holes without a mortar mixer.

I don’t understand what’s demotivating about that? It’s a great opportunity to learn something new. And with concrete for a fence post, you really can’t go wrong, any mix will hold. In the past few months, I’ve done so many things I had never done before. Operating an excavator, building a 5m swing, a natural stone dry stone wall, bonding XPS with PU foam, installing window sills. There are instructions for everything. Of course, I also made mistakes, but that’s not a problem. You can choose projects that forgive mistakes.

Actually, mostly the fear of not being able to manage it. The enclosure is relatively important to me, that it is done properly. But I think I will also start some DIY projects in the new garden. I’ve decided to build a sandbox and a raised bed =)

That's why I wrote, you put old stones in. There's enough offcut in house construction that you can set aside for that. Field stones work too.
Then 2 sacks are enough ;)

: Just trust yourself a bit.
We all started once as well. And here you can also specifically ask questions or look it up on the internet, nowadays there are instructions for everything, or ask your neighbor.

For the drive-in sleeves, it's best to use a driving aid. Then hit it with a heavy hammer (rubber mallet or sledgehammer) and check the plumb every two strikes. You don’t have to overdo it since you can still slightly align the post later. We have somewhat sandy soil. Even so, we concreted every second sleeve. Here, you have to be a bit more careful with the plumb. It's best to screw the post into the sleeve beforehand, then you have more length for the plumb line. There are practical post levels that you can attach to the post with a rubber strap and have a bubble level on two edges. There is also concrete that you can basically leave in the bag and just pour over. That is the most expensive option, but it really makes it simple. I actually made it hardest for myself at the street because I planned to use screw-on sleeves there. But that's a huge effort and allows for more mistakes. So for the shed, terrace, and carport, I will immediately embed H-anchors in concrete. It's easier and you don't have to get the foundation so perfectly plumb and level yourself...

In case of doubt, 10 out of 20 posts are just a little bit crooked. It's not the end of the world ;) Maybe you also have someone in the family or among acquaintances who has done something like this before and can help a bit. Once the first post is set together and the next two under supervision, the rest are probably not that bad anymore.

were "Schraub-Fundamente" already being discussed? I myself have only screwed one in for testing once and that went quite well. Others complained that it doesn't work at all - a stone and everything becomes crooked if it goes in at all. So test first ...
