Dear all,
we are in the final sprint of the Metod kitchen planning with exclusively third-party appliances.
Unfortunately, I am currently despairing over our fridge-freezer combo! And this time, the forum here and the posts already written simply don’t help me! Maybe someone can help me....PLEASE
Problem:
A 200cm tall Metod cabinet should hold a fridge-freezer combo, meaning fridge on top and freezer below.
Of course, I want two doors so that the freezer door doesn’t open when I’m at the fridge and vice versa. Unfortunately, I don’t know which tall cabinet with which door combination I need to get two separate doors. In the kitchen planner, when I take a comparable Ikea product, the tall cabinet immediately switches to a single door.
I have the following fridge-freezer combos with flat hinges to choose from (but have not decided yet): Siemens KI77SAD30 or Siemens KI86SAF30, with the latter being my favorite due to the overall height.
According to the assembly plan, certain door heights are specified and that is exactly my problem.
Could I take a 200cm carcass and then put an 80cm door below and a 120cm door above? It doesn’t matter how much the door on top protrudes; I’m rather concerned about whether the 80cm door fits below. I can adjust the bottom shelf height variably. Meaning, if I take the door height specification of the freezer part (69.4cm), I could flush-mount the 80cm front door at the top, and then place the bottom shelf of the cabinet at the height that fits. This may result in a larger compartment below, but that wouldn’t be a problem.
Oh, the fronts are Laxarby, which we have chosen, in case that matters!
Do I have a flaw in my thinking somewhere? Or am I missing the forest for the trees?
Thank you very much in advance - I’m happy to share which other electrical appliances we selected if anyone is currently planning a kitchen and is despairing!
