The washbasin with cabinet I purchased was installed, connected, and the silicone seal was applied by the plumber. He charged a very reasonable amount for this. He wasn't exactly enthusiastic, he would have liked to sell a washbasin himself, but he did it. Installation was done by myself. I would also try to delegate this "small job" to a tradesman who is already on the construction site.

Thank you! The idea is not bad at all; I hadn’t tried the classic calling around of companies nearby yet. I think with the construction topic, I have to let go of my usual "everything via internet/email" habit. Many craftsmen are probably not digital natives in the true sense.

Good idea! I’m currently on parental leave but can maybe listen around in work chat rooms. Unfortunately, almost all colleagues stayed in the city (who built 3-4 years ago). Now it’s so expensive that we’re moving out a bit. But I don’t know if the craftsmen from the city want to drive so far for such small jobs. Asking around doesn’t hurt though. One of my husband’s colleagues used to live in our future place of residence; he can be a good person to approach.

That would be ideal. We are doing all the washbasins ourselves. But for the sanitary connections, we need someone from the trade in the house anyway, right? If I had the washbasins "ready" when they are there, maybe someone from them could do it right away. That’s how some friends of ours did it, too.

Just ask the journeymen who are already doing sanitation work for you if they would like to earn some extra money after the official end of work. According to [BAT]. And make sure you really have all the small parts together by then.

Regarding materials from craftsmen and the hardware store, I can report firsthand (namely my own) that craftsmen go to the hardware store to buy materials.

It is similar to restaurateurs, of whom I know that they also shop at the nearest Aldi or Penny.

Whereas very few are cheap. Hardware stores tend to have pharmacist prices. If you disregard special offers and clearance sales.
