Do the parts really hold a heavy garage? And what do I do with the space in the middle? It should still be filled. I suspect that a floor slab of 21 sqm done by myself won't cost me 1000€. The ring foundation probably won't be much more expensive.

What exactly should one imagine here under the "Garage / Carport"?

3 m width would already be quite tight with masonry walls inside. Precast concrete garages are regularly placed on strip foundations, one of my row garages (steel) even stands on a composite paving surface.

We have a steel garage with foam-filled walls. That thing will be really heavy. The carport and garage are connected.

The thing is reinforced concrete and stands on the strips that I have described. Karsten

Steel garages generally do not have a floor, therefore: For precast concrete garages, strip foundations are sufficient, as the precast garage already includes the floor. The manufacturer provides the foundation plan. See #22.

We have to set the slab with reinforcement and the ring foundation according to the garage manufacturer. We will also stick to that, because otherwise, if there are any defects, the foundation is always blamed.

In 2 weeks, my husband’s cousin is coming with a mini excavator and a friend to do the formwork and place the reinforcement. In other words, we’re doing the fun ourselves. I just have to be much more involved.
