What appliances do you use in the evening and how much do they consume? With lights and TV, you might consume about 1kWh. The dishwasher is also in that range, provided you run it in the evening. The main consumer in the evening is cooking; you often have the problem that the induction stove draws more power than the battery can supply, and then you partly have to draw from the grid again. You will only use 10 kWh overnight if the heat pump is heating. In winter, you often won’t reach that amount. The cycles are taken by the storage during the transition period when the sun shines more but the heating is still/on already running.

Unfortunately, I can hardly say at the moment since the living situation is completely different and we are not connected to one meter. It actually only really pays off if you use the sauna or the heat pump has to heat well. So you mean I probably won’t get enough cycles?!

It also depends on what the [Speicher] costs now.
If it only makes up about €4,000 of the total price, it can already pay off.
If it makes up about €10,000 of the total price, it looks different again.

I firmly expect that our [Speicher] will pay off over the term.
Whether that is really the case, I will only find out in a few years ;)

Ok, costs without storage have been requested, I am curious :-)

We haven't had our storage for very long either. So far, it has almost always been nearly full, as too little is needed in the summer. The same applies to the sauna as to the induction stove. When the sauna stove draws 8kW, it overwhelms most storages. Although a larger storage also allows for higher discharge current. However, if you belong to the philistines who only sauna in winter, the question becomes irrelevant anyway, as the electricity consumption of the heat pump and sauna far exceeds the storage.

We recently got a very similar system. Also everything from Sungrow.
However, 12.8 kWh storage (so one more module), and 12.45 kWp.
So far we are very satisfied with the system. We had to restart it once because it occasionally shut down for a few minutes, since then it’s been fine.
We also have a Wallbox from Sungrow.
We paid 26k for all that together including installation and commissioning, which I found very cheap in comparison. There was a bit of a discount, probably because the electrician who was working at our house anyway did it.

I find the offer you have quite good in terms of price.
We were also advised against the storage. Storage is basically always a gamble on the future. You need to decide what you think is likely for yourselves.
We calculated with rising energy prices and hope that the storage doesn’t break on the day the warranty expires.

On most days in autumn we are 90% self-sufficient, and have even reached 100% before. That’s pretty cool. But we have a high electricity consumption. We have many energy guzzlers in the evening (gaming PCs), heat pump, e-car, generally a large house, always home office. We consume as much solar power as possible “directly” during the day, but still empty the storage overnight.
Take a look at what you use at night and whether you can empty the storage. If you don’t make proper cycles per year, the storage rarely pays off.

Best regards,
Kati
