Hi!

I would be interested to know what you think is the best way to heat! You hear a lot about heating with wood being cheap and also environmentally friendly. The prices for electricity or gas are also getting higher and higher. Wood prices are rather stable, aren’t they? I look forward to your opinions and suggestions.

Best regards,
sennor :)

pro wood heating

hi sennor,

when you think about the environment, heating with wood is definitely the best option. wood is a heat source with a long history. the investment costs are clearly not insignificant, but you save this money afterwards. wood is an energy source that can always be renewed. and the forests also remain healthy when thoughtful wood energy use is applied.

hi!

I lived for years on an old farm where the only option for heating was with wood. And I noticed that it was a completely different, more pleasant warmth. If you have your own land and can "produce" the firewood yourself, then you actually don’t spend any money on heating. All you need is some time...

Mara ;)

hi!

there are three sources of energy:
- nuclear energy
- fossil energy
- renewable energy

when heating with wood, it is referred to as thermal energy production.
consider that humans have been using wood for about 400,000 years to burn it. today, besides firewood, there is also the option to heat with e.g. briquettes or wood chips.

best regards,
yung :)

Hello Sennor,

My mother still heats with wood today. In winter, when I visit her, I am always met with a nice cozy warmth, very different from a heater or something like that. If I had the opportunity to heat with wood, I would do it too.

Hello all!

Nowadays, there is already the possibility to heat with so-called wood pellets. That is wood in granular form. It is basically filled up just like heating oil. You have a large tank where the pellets are then stored. You can convert your regular heating system to heat with pellets. It does cost a bit of money at first, but over time you will make that money back, as these pellets are much cheaper than heating oil or gas.
