Like it! The kitchen island and the sink in front of the window are not really my thing, but otherwise the kitchen looks great! We haven't done much in the garden so far either. The financial cushion needs to be built up again.... Because our buffers are so well used up... :o But we also had problems with the moisture in the basement. :o

It's really something completely different when you enter the house in person and walk through the rooms than what you had imagined before!

At first, I also didn't want an island. But I really like the sink in front of the window because I have my main work surface to the right with a view out the window and also the trash bin directly under the countertop there. And with a turn, I can throw everything prepared into the pot.

Oh dear, yes I believe that! We are already planning the budget precisely, we have had a few expenses that we hadn't expected in that form. But I think that's normal when building a house..

What was going on with your basement? And why did you have water in it?

cool kitchen! :) I looked again more closely: an extra-flat countertop would have been the icing on the cake ;)

Thank you! :-))

What does extra flat mean? You mean that the thickness of the countertop matches the thickness of the side panel? We could have made the side panels thicker too...
But we quite like it this way. (And eventually the budget runs out *laugh*)

Extra-thin, that is 18mm thick countertop looks even much more elegant. But yes, of course: at some point the limit is reached, hence the remark I-Tüpfelchen ;)

I agree. Looks very good. Our flat countertop was practically price-neutral (ok, we never considered another one but I think there's usually not much difference...). The built-in tall cabinets look great, we have them like that too. Negligible extra effort - if you do it yourself - and a clear visual enhancement, I think.
