I would place it at the border.

[*]The area under the roof can be used at any time as a storage room / warehouse - even in the border area.
[*]The roof pitch would have to be quite high to create living space from it. It looks strange for a garage without a knee wall. What roof pitch have you planned?
[*]The conversion is disproportionately expensive compared to the gained space. Do you basically have the money left over?
[*]The garden suffers a lot if you shift the driveway 3m to the right side of the plan, I think.

This is roughly how the terrace is planned, the house will be a bit longer and wider, the small children's room still needs more space, we want to have a fixed staircase to the attic which still has to be accommodated, either a straight staircase in the hallway or via a continuation of the landing staircase, there should be several built-in wardrobes in the hallways.

The attic is intended to be a playroom for the children or possibly a youth room later.

The roof pitch of the house is 28°, for the garage it will also be in this range; we could also plan the garage deeper to have a room for garden tools. We obviously do not have money to spare; we want to keep the house architecture as simple as possible and plan accordingly cost-optimized.

This gradual tactic annoys me a bit as well. How many stories is the main house? Which knee wall height? Have you ever drawn your 28° roof on the garage? You can’t stand inside there. The theoretical maximum directly under the ridge should be somewhere around 1.85m. That’s not including any floor construction yet. A door is 2m high. That has nothing to do with living space, not even for children. Or is the garage supposed to get a knee wall? It’s all so confusing. It seems to me that you are supposed to make a fundamental decision here without the slightest background knowledge. If you continue like this, it will get very expensive.
