Does the door open inward or outward? What is normal?

I took out the peanuts because... The church is no longer in the village [emoji23]

You are talking about the guest toilet as if it were a panic room or a bathroom in a hospital. I do hope you know where your nearest defibrillator is and how to operate it [emoji6]

Otherwise: there is enough space, my husband is not an elf [emoji6] see #15

So that chips and beer pay off, here’s a theory. Anyone who absolutely wants the door to open outward because of the sanitary facilities also rides a bike with a helmet. [emoji41]

There is no objectively unique decision here, as in many aspects of life. One can only offer a TE aspects to consider. Therefore, I find the attitude of the last two posts really quite arrogant.

Dear Kerstin, that is not correct.
No one still circles around or positions themselves with us.

You can have the door open outwards if you want to stay there longer and the door then becomes a nuisance.
A guest toilet is primarily used alone, and you don't want to stay there long.

It is _just_one toilet room [emoji16]

Here it is important that a topic is considered from different aspects by different users. Defending a solution just because one has done it that way oneself usually leads to unnecessary discussions, which is less helpful. Door inward, outward (Kerstin's version), and sliding door are all possible; disadvantages and advantages, as far as we know, have been mentioned. That is enough for TE, because he makes the final decision himself.

One more little thought:

Maybe also consider the visual aspect.

How many doors are still in the hallway/foyer?

Because normal room doors have the door leaf attached on the frame side towards which the door opens.
Usually, the other doors open from the hallway into the room, so the door is located on the frame inside the room itself.

If you want a uniform appearance, you would have to have the door open inward, or install a corresponding door that opens outward and where the door sits "inside."
