Jan has the problem that he needs an elongated building structure, the terrace not facing forward towards the street, where the south is, but the living room there. Because if you build the living room on the west side (with access to the north terrace), it does not get enough brightness through neighboring buildings.
I can't say spontaneously now (I've dealt with it enough ;)), but how about leaving out the ceiling in a bungalow and getting light into the living room through skylights. It looks stylish, feels spacious, but the insulation of the slope costs more than the insulation of the ceiling, and there should be at least two Velux windows :)
Also, google in the Bauherrentagebücher for my architect/construction company: they build individually turnkey and very close to you (Hannover).
