@ Wanderdüne I have to disagree with you. The days of cozy couch evenings with friends are no longer current. At least not in our wider circle. Couch corner for watching TV and a cozy dining area for evenings with friends. In our 75 sqm living/dining/kitchen area, only about 14 sqm is planned for the TV corner.
Well then:
first the "nice" living room in the 50s, then the party room in the basement... Or were they both at the same time? the lounge for Sunday afternoon with relatives, on Saturday then drinking parties underground with friends. In the 70s people met in pubs, at least for a half Hahn meal... At some point (in the 80s?) the change came: garden parties and barbecues were celebrated. You were allowed to sniff good air again, but unfortunately there were no more parties in the cold season, until around the turn of the millennium the grilling season was celebrated – of course also in winter. Prosperity celebrations on the sofa in the 90s were replaced by cooking events and entertainment evenings at the kitchen table or at least at the dining table. With that, the large living room for many guests has completely gone out of fashion. People build open and the kitchen with a counter or cooking island. And/but who knows what will happen in 10 years? Of course one does not force oneself to the change of the times (no, of course not ;)), nevertheless needs can change. Although a big sofa in front of a flatscreen really invites cuddling with the family, it certainly does not invite WiFi gaming or watching the World Cup with friends. And what if the bones just don’t want to sit on the hard Ikea stools anymore due to health reasons?
Therefore, one should build everything in “healthy” sizes because “current” is already out and indisputable tomorrow :)
