Determine desired ceiling height

Hello,

I am currently planning a single-family house as a bungalow. It will probably be built in solid or block construction. Since the "normal" ceiling height feels "oppressive" to me with a lot of visible wood in the ceiling, I would like to build with a higher ceiling height.

How can I find out which ceiling height is suitable for me?

I don't think there is a "sample room" with different ceiling heights. Or am I just being a bit stupid here?

Model house center - go into bungalows and feel for yourself what suits you.

Simply build the bungalow with normal ceiling heights at the eaves sides and then with open roof undersides, so the rooms expand towards the ridge.

you can install an intermediate ceiling in your bungalow and set the room height comfortably for yourself.
If you leave out this intermediate ceiling, you look directly under the roof. The gable roof, hip roof, flat roof all look different from below.
Most builders who have a view up to the roof still have an area with an intermediate ceiling, bathrooms, bedrooms, utility room, etc.,

I have been to such a show home park before, but the impression of massive wood look didn’t help me much. They were all quite modern houses with white ceilings. That oppressive feeling doesn’t come up there. So I’m reluctant to do an exposed roof truss for the whole house. Maybe in the living area. But as Nida already says, most rooms will have a suspended ceiling.
