I’m happy for you if you had a different experience. Unfortunately, with us it happened that after the first 6 months, reasonable inquiries were made, which the architect promptly complied with. After the second 6 months and repeated inquiries from our side, an obviously far-fetched and unnecessary addition to the plans was demanded, for which, on top of everything, the neighbor signatures had to be obtained again, even though the building had not changed by a single millimeter. Only the marked distance areas are now in a different color. No joke.
It remains to be hoped that the approval fiction will be handled differently in the future. I have only expressed here the skepticism of an architect who has never experienced such a request as we did.
