Just some ideas:

Do you have a soil survey and also know that the soil class is correct?

Does the construction contractor have experience in the area and assume a worse soil class?

Are the 8.8 EUR/m³ really accurate? For which soil class?

The landfills here charge by tons. Is it really m³?

The conversion factor for us was about 1.8. So 1m³ = 1.8 tons.

If the excavation is included in the flat rate, he will certainly include a buffer for it.

Soil class 6 is not an easy soil - do you really have that? You need heavy equipment for that. Removing one square meter quickly costs 40-50€. Z0 landfill 8.80€ is already expensive but okay, plus transport costs of about 5-10€ per sqm. That makes for 400 sqm 21-28k€ net, so a maximum of 33-34k€ gross. That makes 36 not unreasonable, but very high.

Thanks for the info! This was calculated by him based on experience in the construction area that he also knows.

Soil report will follow from our side, but it is not available yet! It will come in the next weeks.

Soil class 6 is very, very unlikely, as he himself said.

That’s why I wonder how he can set such a price...

The buffer will definitely be used up to the last bit. And I doubt that you will get money back then...

Above all, he broke it down into: 16k disposal costs, 20k remaining.

How does he come up with 16k disposal costs? I can calculate the costs of the disposal site myself, I find it on the website of the disposal site. Then transport... How on earth do I get 16k there??

The provider is not interesting for us anyway, but still good to know.

Edit: We have [weiße Wanne] – Does that make a difference? Do you maybe have to excavate more, dig deeper or whatever? That ultimately has nothing to do with it, right?

You write from your own experience because he already knows the construction area. Then it will be fine, and you can assume that you will pay the same with others.

Not at all, I suspect the company is totally ripping me off because the total price is already 50-70k above the other offers and the company's reputation is no longer the best.

He is also a planner who has only been in the business for 1 year and has absolutely no clue about the whole matter and acts as if he is the "expert."

36k excavation in this area is not possible. He talks about very low soil class and no problems in the area, then calculates 36k excavation and says that 16k of that are disposal costs?? Where does he get that number from, I wonder?

Furthermore, there are sentences like: If another construction company tells you that nowadays you only have to spend 20k, then that is a lie and cannot be true.

Statements that are simply wrong in my opinion.

Already strange with you. You neither have a soil survey nor do you actually know how much excavation is required. But that the contractor who has already built there and knows the site wants to rip you off, you can judge that. Lumpi has already calculated above that it could very well be correct.
