Thanks, that is actually helpful. Asbestos is a good keyword. I have to find out when it was regularly used.

This, not least, speaks against the fear of a cheap construction.

Yes. It will probably be about 40 cm faced with bricks: 25 cm bricks still in the old Reich format (until the 1950s), presumably "monolithic" built up with the facing bricks. That would then be 38 cm.

Or also 24 cm pumice blocks and 12 cm hollow bricks ("red facing bricks") placed directly next to each other. That's how my new house was built with a 36.5 cm wall (from the mid-60s). Either way, definitely not bad for the year of construction.

Brief update: The court date is scheduled for now. Whether due to Corona or because the debtor has reached an agreement with the bank, I have not been able to find out so far. We’ll see.

It is also possible that someone secured the house before the appointment. Such things are always possible.

I am only reading the topic now because of your current post, but of course I have read the initial post and am completely puzzled:
I can understand that you occasionally keep an eye on houses etc. in your surroundings.
But are you seriously planning to possibly tear down the house you have always admired? Even though you are happy with your current living situation?
Maybe one should just let fate rest? In the end, you will “only” be changing your living situation and not necessarily improving it... possibly realistically face the demolition of the crush/dream, realizing that one should sometimes let go of dreams/admiration because they are mostly seen through rose-colored and unrealistic glasses (it's kind of like teenagers falling for adults or singers, actors).

So, if I were you, I would think about whether it’s all worth it and whether you will get what you wanted or whether you still want now what you wanted before.
