We have the same problem as you. We have not found a controlled residential ventilation system with an appropriate shut-off. We will probably have to bite the bullet even though we are still in discussions with the chimney sweep. I also have no idea how the pressure monitor could be installed for us, since we will have a freestanding chimney in the middle of the room and I will not drill a hole in the building envelope just so such a crappy pressure monitor (for EUR 1,000) can work. I would rather take a cheaper chimney without a certificate etc. if I need the pressure monitor anyway.

You're unfortunately right about that! But maybe someone knows such a system and we can still get some feedback. I find it shocking that, at least in our case, almost the entire living room revolves around this damn fireplace and its necessary technology. In the past, it was just put in the stove and done.

While browsing further, I came across: Zehnder ComfoAir 350 and the chimney sweep control. Isn’t that exactly it?

I agree with you! It is also schizophrenic because we: - have a DIBt certified fireplace including external air supply running under the floor slab - specifically chose a recirculation hood for the new kitchen (which is more expensive than an exhaust hood) Everyone who has an exhaust hood and a "cheap" fireplace from the hardware store receives the same requirements as we do.

Full agreement with @Musketier!

Calculate what all this technical stuff costs in purchase and maintenance (solar, controlled residential ventilation) and compare it with the costs for better insulation. You pay that once!

I have now written to this company to get further information.

It is really poor that such problems are caused.

We have identical conditions.
Well, wait for the company's response, then contact the chimney sweep again.
Because he wanted something confirmed in writing, I hope an email will be enough.

And then the prefabricated house company just has to cooperate.
