Yes, then we just have totally different perspectives and attitudes on the subject. That's okay too.

I personally also find the idea very charming. With a change in personal circumstances, you can definitely rent out a small house well or sell it to an older couple. My aunt/uncle, for example, had to sell their house for age reasons and have been renting again after 30 years of ownership. They don’t like it at all, but a suitable property was not on the market. I would probably consider the following: Approximately 70 sqm total living space Separate cooking/dining area Small bedroom Nice living area with space Building technology under the roof to have as much space as possible on the living level And an office/guest room with a few sqm You don’t always have to build huge. Small and functional also fits. And I too would rather own something that meets my requirements than rent. At 24 years old, it already annoyed me to pay money for something that will never be mine and where I constantly have to be considerate of other tenants and also the landlord’s property. But that is of course a highly personal opinion. I for one would be curious about the construction blog of the bungalow.

No, I hope to find a suitable woman in the next few years with whom I can then enjoy life together. ...As I said, if I need more space then, the house can be expanded.

Points that come to my mind about this: The woman might not necessarily want to live there. If she does, after maybe 2 years you might already have dirt, work, and annoyance again due to the upcoming extension because 50 or even 65 sqm is too small for two people. With a well-designed floor plan it might still work, but otherwise the extension literally looks like an add-on.

I don't want to talk you out of it, but such points should be considered. I would build something that has a good size and also fits well, e.g. for older people looking for something smaller for their old age. In case things turn out differently than expected at 25. At least I had imagined the next 10 years differently at 25 than how they actually were.

It's not as simple as written..... and also costly: heating, electrical and water supply must be redesigned, building permits cost money, foundation slab extension on the existing structure...

I can understand the wish, however it’s a bit like putting the cart before the horse. Women often have the trait of wanting to "create" something themselves rather than taking over something finished. Just a thought alongside the size. Creating something together after some time can actually make more sense than ending up with a 50m² building that nobody wants. You should also consider: the house might be interesting for someone older (although with 50m² it will be difficult to make it barrier-free), but the plot also needs to be maintained. So that contradicts itself for me.
