Hello everyone,

I am new here and have been reading along diligently, but I have my own problem and am looking for help.

In our house, there are telephone sockets in every room that hopefully are suitable for connecting a router (with an integrated modem). However, the connections do not seem to be activated yet. The internet comes into a socket in the utility room.

There are also several gray cables there that obviously have not been connected yet, but are labeled with the respective rooms.

Now to the question: Where and how do I have to connect these cables so that I can use the connection sockets in all rooms?

Thank you in advance. I have attached some pictures.

Let's start very slowly.

What kind of cables are installed in the rooms? What exactly is written on them? Which sockets are installed in the rooms?

What do you actually want to do? Get a router running somewhere, for example in the living room? How do you want to use the other connection sockets in the house?

What have you agreed on regarding this topic with your BU, GU, or BT?

Hello. I assume that in every room the cables are installed that I photographed. They contain several colorful wires/circuits. The cables come out of the wall/ceiling and are available in the house connection room for connection (?). In every room, TAE sockets are installed. I also have one such socket in the utility room, where I connected the o2 Homebox.

Since the Homebox is installed in the utility room and the Wi-Fi reception, despite repeater and powerline adapter, can be improved, my idea/hope was that theoretically I can activate an internet connection at every socket, i.e., in every room, or set up my own Wi-Fi via LAN cable/Wi-Fi router, so that one can save the use of repeaters etc.

Nothing concrete was agreed upon with the builder in this regard, as we decided on the house at a time when these things were already planned. I will hardly be able to find out any more details here.

The cables usually have a label printed on them. That would already help with the classification. Or at least take a close-up photo of the wires so that something can be recognized.

Okay, I will do that later as I am currently not on site.

Thank you very much for now!

Is there really a TAE in every room? That would really be something. Please also take a photo of the socket in one of the rooms. I hope for you that it is a LAN cable and that the sockets are not TAE but LAN sockets. You obviously only have one internet connection and can only connect one router.
