My pipes have an inner diameter of 63 mm. Spiral seam pipes are generally at least twice as large, right?

I spoke with my builder yesterday. The screw probably got in during the installation of the drywall panels. The heating installer did not want to have anything to do with the screw. He agreed to only clean the pipe once the screw comes out. In response to my questions about the necessity of cleaning, he said that instead of worrying forever, I should sign a maintenance contract. After the first cleaning, you can see how often it needs to be cleaned. I was shown three methods. I took some photos of flyers:

My builder assured me that the screw will be removed but I have to wait a few weeks because he is very busy at the moment.

From this story, I have learned the following:

- The pipes must be cleaned or at least inspected before acceptance.
- Every technical system requires maintenance. I believe that regular maintenance is a must even for perfectly installed ventilation.
- How and how often you need to clean depends on the design of the ventilation. Everyone can decide for themselves.
- Before installing the system, I recommend asking whether a heating installer can offer a maintenance contract for the ventilation.

Due to recent circumstances, I finally opened up my system after 7 years of continuous operation to change the filters again and clean the heat exchanger.

This is what it looks like:

At the bottom right is the fresh air chamber, which means unfiltered air from outside comes in there.

You can see that a layer of dust is present both before and after the filter.

At the top left, however, after the heat exchanger (fresh air into the rooms), everything is relatively clean, almost like the first day. I can also tell by the supply air vents in the rooms. They are still clean.

At the top right (exhaust air from the rooms), there is also a slight dust layer. But significantly less than at the bottom right.

After I rinsed off the heat exchanger, some dirt of course came out.

Take a look at the setup of my system. All four air chambers are hermetically sealed from each other. Practically nothing can flow over.

You are right, it depends a lot on the setup of the system. It may be that in your system the exhaust and supply airflows are hermetically separated.

Dust also passes through filters. I have observed that as well.

The cleaning has already paid off for you.
One can only speculate whether there is dust in your ventilation ducts. I think it is like with furniture, you can only see the dust if you wipe over it with a cloth.

Yes, often only coarse filters are installed, which is completely normal.

My ducts are mostly too accessible. I can practically look inside at any time to see how it looks.

Exhaust air dusty, supply air clean.

It's really unbelievable...^^ At first clear matches in expression and style, then after a direct hint suddenly appearing but inconsistent and highly varying orthographic deficits of different regional characteristics. Unfortunately, the idea is not particularly convincing. Maybe try again in another forum

Always fun to see stuff like this, where's the popcorn?
Too bad I missed that^^

Sorry for the reheating, but after 14 pages it was literally burning under my fingers
