So that it doesn't only go in one direction...

Exhaust air!! Scent or no scent, I want the "smell" of sauerkraut, the onions when cooking goulash, or the roux when making lentils to stay in the house as short as possible... in my opinion, exhaust air is better!

It works.

By the way, the search function delivers literally dozens of thousands of results here!

Exhaust air primarily also transports moisture out of the house. Even with recirculation, people open the windows after cooking to air out briefly, and then cold air comes in. If exhaust air is well planned with a supply air box, I would always prefer that. Berbel or Naber or Weibel wall boxes.

Exhaust air is predominantly recommended

So I should/must take a wall box from Berbel or Naber or Weibel, right?

Who installs the wall box in the wall best for me? The builder or the kitchen installer?

We have a KFW55 house and are also using the KFW loan
We definitely have to ensure that the KFW55 title is maintained

What must and must not be done should be told to you by your energy consultant, who also has to take this into account.

The brand of it doesn’t matter for the calculation.

Install? The kitchen fitter usually doesn’t do that. Are you building with a developer?
So are you buying the finished property including the land, or have you bought the land and commissioned a construction company? That would be different.
In any case, get involved in the planning as early as possible. If you have a wall-mounted hood on the exterior wall, the planning effort is lower. If you have an island, it must already be planned. Because then the duct must be planned as well.

You can also install it yourself, it’s not rocket science. As I said, duct routing may require some planning under certain circumstances.

Yes, we are buying land with a developer and a turnkey house from the developer.

So the developer has to install the wall box for us and have it approved by the energy consultant?

The kitchen installer does not do that?

We must not lose the KFW55 status under any circumstances.

Oh, so really with real estate transfer tax on the whole lot and all that?

Well, the developer doesn’t have to do anything at first. He’s selling you a finished house as ordered. If that wasn’t ordered, then you have to ask the developer if he can still include that afterwards.
I don’t think it’s unlikely that he isn’t keen on that or will charge you properly for it. Because he will pass on the extra effort of execution and planning (energy consultant) to you.
But you’ll only find out when you ask him.

One more question, where and in what design is the extractor hood planned? Exterior wall? Island? Ceiling? Downdraft?
