This is getting crazier and crazier. What kind of nitpickers are working in that building authority?

Yes, it is only spoken about the front side of the garage.

One does no favor by letting a draft be discussed after the building application. True words can hurt. If I knew that the building application was in progress, I would advise withdrawal if major mistakes were apparent. Otherwise, I keep quiet. One can hope that the application is not approved. The problem with the 16 meters width was known, one saves a garage and gives oneself preference for living in bright rooms over a car. My opinion.

I don’t know if everyone has seen it, but it is a new development area. In our Ruhr area, plots are very scarce, which is why such narrow building plots are created. Even if I replace my garage with a carport, my carport will stand between my house and the neighbor’s garage. Someone wrote here that it has a row house style, somehow that person is right. All plots are 16m wide and must have 3m to the neighbor, so it is clear that the garages are placed there. So you have the choice: 1. Have your own garage and no side window 2. Window (possibly under a carport) and from the window, you see the neighbor’s garage that stands 3m away. I believe that people who live in the countryside would complain a lot because they don’t know such things. City people are very happy if they get a plot at all.

You're right. I wouldn't do that again either.

I still wouldn’t submit to this garage madness. Who knows what the future holds? Maybe they will ban cars in cities altogether soon or there will be free electric rental cars that you can call anytime via mobile phone and that drive to me autonomously. The neighboring garages are then a total of 6m away, if I understand correctly. So there is indeed a chance for light from the left and right. It all also depends a lot on the design. Just an example, without judging whether this is the most beautiful of all carports. Of course, it’s hard to decide on something else now. I understand that. But those living rooms without windows on the sides are simply a sin, sorry.
