Basically poor planning and not to be confused with minor details! However, children are very different. What one likes, the other doesn't have to like, e.g. sun. One may want many windows, the other prefers to be protected like in a cave or away from the sun. Rarely do children measure the room, so square meters are also relative. An age difference can be even more significant. A 3-year-old doesn't care about many things, while a 13-year-old probably doesn't care about the comparison. The teenager has different worries than their parents ever thought about when planning the house. In this respect, one can keep things in perspective - you can't please everyone preventively.
