Yes, smoke is a problem... One of our neighbors doesn't have the chimney under control, he burns everything that is wood, whether there is still paint on it or not.
if it stinks outside, it also stinks with normal ventilation
If it stinks outside, then you don’t ventilate normally. At least that’s how I’m doing it right now in a house without controlled residential ventilation, and I think most normal-thinking citizens do the same.
do you have controlled residential ventilation? With F7 filter?
Not at the normal ones, only the fins are exposed to the airflow. With the enthalpy heat exchanger, the air is mixed. That's the statement in the Rosa Technik Forum. Maybe also dependent on the manufacturer.
yes, controlled residential ventilation but F5 filter mat.

I can confirm that - the annoying smoke from the neighbors unfortunately tends to spread inside the house on some days.
What generally gives me some concerns with controlled residential ventilation is that stink/odor from outside is distributed inside the house (smoke from fires, accidents, or even just the farm smell in the countryside)? There are supposed to be activated carbon filters for that, but they are said to be almost unaffordable. For others, the F7 filter has already helped against odors from outside. Does anyone here have experience with this?
I can very easily perceive smoke indoors. I then open the window to verify the impression. I don’t notice fertilization from agriculture inside, even if you can clearly smell it outside. Of course, that can also be due to the general perception of odors and does not necessarily come from the filter. We have F7 filters.
Oh, so that one’s own odor/stink from inside the house is distributed inside the house?
We have a rotary heat exchanger. There is a defined wash area for the air without heat recovery, yet system-inherently a few percent of the exhaust air is not separated. You don’t notice that, inside the house odors are distributed more through open doors.
