In summer, the bypass is on. That means the air passes by the heat exchanger anyway.
Isn't it more logical to drive through a bypass in summer?
Why should you run through a heat exchanger in summer?
IMHO summer = cool night = inside warmer = bypass on = no heat exchanger -> day outside warm = inside cooler = bypass off = air goes through heat exchanger which cools the warm supply air with the cooler exhaust air.
Heat exchanger works both ways.
How else should air exchange take place during the day?
