With a DIY store carport, the wood and posts are usually significantly smaller in size. What should not be forgotten is the roof covering. This is often not included with the DIY store carports and must be obtained separately.

A hardware store has both no-name and branded carports. Both can also be ordered elsewhere. I would write down features that are important, e.g. 9cm posts instead of 7cm, 6 posts instead of 4, and then weigh where to buy what. Possibility for painting/impregnation (no warped pressure-impregnated ones that are already curved on the shelf...) Width of the carport between the posts... You can upgrade the roof coating by changing the material, screws as well, stability through good foundations and mounting. 1500 is not cheap goods. I once had a 300 € piece: the car stood dry there too, but it looked scruffy.

Hi,

Nope, never heard of the Hornbach low price guarantee? They match any price and then take off another 10%.

It really works, friends of ours have done it several times during house construction.

Best regards,

Andreas

And one more thing about DIY store carports:

You must not forget that the price usually does not include delivery and assembly. And the €1500 is mostly for the small 2.5 * 5 m ones. You can also get brand carports (I once looked up Siebau) which come in the small sizes in really good quality for a good €3000 (without delivery/assembly).

Of course, you should not compare the €1500 self-assembly 2 * 5 m carport with the 6 * 6 m "all-around carefree and ready assembled" carport.

Best regards,

Andreas

I've heard of it, but it's obviously nonsense. Hornbach claims that with 120,000 items "something might slip through." I just checked 2 items - and both items are available from numerous competitors (online) after 5 seconds of research at prices that are 68-69% of Hornbach's price.

According to Hornbach, this should only happen in isolated cases, although I suspect that this only applies to comparable competitors, so excluding online retailers.

Best regards,

Where can you buy a carport online? (Or also a garden shed, that would be more relevant for me ...).
