Burglary protection - RC3 windows, preventive protection or alarm system?

Hello,

we are now at the stage in planning where we are thinking about the topic of burglary protection.

We have already made a few considerations ourselves, and I have also had a longer consultation with an officer from the criminal police.

The police recommend investing in prevention before installing an alarm system. Securing easily accessible entrances to the house with WK2 (or RC2).

After this flood of information, I am even considering RC3 + electric shutters with dusk control, as we live on the edge of a field. We would then do without an alarm system, and interior protection is already ruled out because of our pets. We would also forego glass break detectors (and reed contact detectors) for the reason that our child (later children) naturally also live in the house and would have to be able to reliably operate the technology in the end.

My opinion is, whoever struggles with an RC3 window (that is, plenty of mushroom bolts and impact-resistant laminated glass) must really have a lot of time and patience and definitely want something from me.

At the time when we were still talking to prefabricated house providers, we were often asked about windows with mushroom head locking. Today I know that "only" corresponds to RC2-N. So still with normal panes, no laminated glass.

And now my question

What do you do for the security of your home? Or do you even forego protective measures altogether?

In terms of windows, we choose WK2 fittings and controllable roller shutters on all windows. Our neighbors wanted to purchase certified windows (WK? including laminated glass) after consulting with the police, in order to also receive the police plaque. After the price calculation by the window manufacturer, they decided against it: €47K to €23K (but then already with WK2 fittings and lockable handles). Then rather a small alarm system (which makes more sense for us in a large new housing development).

Interior lighting when absent (LEDs), exterior motion lighting, communication with the neighborhood (watchful neighbor campaign), and no property bordering fields

As some have already noticed here, I am not a fan of shutters that are constantly down in the evening (automatic).
Burglars come during the day anyway :P
I prefer them half down (as needed), so that ambient light or LED is visible.

Just before Christmas, there was a fire case (at 1 a.m.) where the fire department was hindered by lowered shutters from extinguishing the fire. Unfortunately, the residents were no longer able to open anything...

Where we are back to the topic of home automation

Automation of the roller shutters coupled to the fire alarm.... But let's leave that topic

So far we also have WK2 (that's what it was called back then) and an alarm system will be installed shortly. I have neighbors too, but they don't always want to watch my house when I'm not there

And those TV simulators will surely tip off the last burglars as well. Just lie in wait and scout out...

Just read up on alarm technology, there is quite a bit. And for starters, I will first turn off my outdoor siren and only have the phone notify me to check for false alarms. There are dual motion detectors that do not respond to pets up to a certain size, and children can already operate phones today, so why not an alarm system?

We also have WK2 windows and doors...3 KS cylinder lock...cats to turn on the lights (when they walk around in the hallways etc., the lamps briefly turn on) otherwise also absence simulation and aluminum roller shutters, which depend on the position of the sun...
