Hello,
we are now at the stage in planning where we are thinking about the topic of burglary protection.
We have already made a few considerations ourselves, and I have also had a longer consultation with an officer from the criminal police.
The police recommend investing in prevention before installing an alarm system. Securing easily accessible entrances to the house with WK2 (or RC2).
After this flood of information, I am even considering RC3 + electric shutters with dusk control, as we live on the edge of a field. We would then do without an alarm system, and interior protection is already ruled out because of our pets. We would also forego glass break detectors (and reed contact detectors) for the reason that our child (later children) naturally also live in the house and would have to be able to reliably operate the technology in the end.
My opinion is, whoever struggles with an RC3 window (that is, plenty of mushroom bolts and impact-resistant laminated glass) must really have a lot of time and patience and definitely want something from me.
At the time when we were still talking to prefabricated house providers, we were often asked about windows with mushroom head locking. Today I know that "only" corresponds to RC2-N. So still with normal panes, no laminated glass.
And now my question
What do you do for the security of your home? Or do you even forego protective measures altogether?
