Our garage is on the boundary and there it adjoins the neighbor's garage (we are both building at the same time). The garage was supposed to be the permitted 9 meters long for us. The city rejected that. In essence: you have to orient yourselves according to the development of the existing houses, and the storage rooms behind the respective carports always meet on the same line towards the garden. So we had to make our garage 1.6 meters longer so that it ends at the same height as the neighbor's garage. Both of us benefited from that, neighbors and us as well. Great long garage. The fun of the building permit then cost us a whopping 1,800 EUR instead of 600 EUR because two exceptions had to be additionally approved (exceeding the boundary development in height and length). Well. You can't do anything about it. We weren't happy about it either, but after the first shock (and there will be a few more) we survived it too. But back then I could have jumped out of my skin...

Why, that's his problem. That's what the fixed price is for.

Normally he submits the building applications himself. I don't know what construction amount he specifies there.
But probably rather at the lower end of the scale.

Building permits cost a lot of money with you

Here in Baden-Württemberg, the building permit (or notification procedure) used to cost under 100€ in fees.
We paid almost 500€ in fees for a special permit due to the garage length exceeding the building line + permission for a natural stone wall along a boundary. So a total of 600€.

The municipalities are really getting rich from this with you by now.
You make money from the land sale, the notary from fees, the state from the property transfer tax, and then those kinds of fees too?

We also received a building permit in Baden-Württemberg 6 months ago and had a bill of nearly €3000, which included 3-4 exceptional permits at €250 each. So I don’t know how a permit should only cost €100 in Baden-Württemberg. Where did you hear that?

As far as I know, it is set here at 0.6% plus exceptional permits.
