Building acceptance - Preliminary inspection - Your tips?

It is important, actually indispensable, to carry out a very thorough takeover. For this, a "professional supporter" should be consulted. There are civil engineers who are professionally capable of providing this. And there are some who additionally act as expert assessors.
I have been supervising construction projects for years and, of course, also conduct inspections for my clients. I charge by the hour. The hourly rate is certainly not low, but, as already described here, definitely worth it. If you hire me (the same engineer) as an expert assessor, you will pay significantly more for this service.
That means: There are offices that have construction experts or civil engineers, bill by the hour, are good, and affordable!! Please remove the word expert assessor!

I have now spontaneously joined the Association of Private Homeowners (one week before acceptance^^) and an expert is accompanying us.
Normally, he prefers to do this before the actual acceptance only in the presence of the homeowners (to avoid discussions with the other party). But when he heard who we are building with and who the site manager is, he agreed to accompany us on the acceptance day as well. However, with the reservation that he might overlook things if there are still tradespeople working. Because with us, everything is a bit slapdash.
The expert also confirmed my impression on the phone that our construction company is basically a good construction company. I am still glad that he is coming along, simply for the good feeling of not having signed anything as a layperson.

Sort of.
Until the day before, yes. But knowing the company, they'll manage it. I've said many times "there's no way they can do it that fast," and so far I've always been wrong.
On the day of the acceptance, the schedule still includes the "Blower Door Test," "fitting the interior doors" (whatever that is), and "sealing." For example, my painter has already helped with sealing the tile edges. Not because the general contractor forgot, but because he doesn't mind and thinks he can work better that way. He's the kind of guy who just gets things done. I've often gotten a "I'll just help out with that," great guy.
So there shouldn't be much left to seal at the acceptance, but the site manager said he'll definitely have the painter there so small issues can be fixed right away. But it's not like there'll still be a bunch of noisy workers in the house that day.

However, the interior doors are only installed the day before. That makes me a bit curious about how that works. We'll see.

Also surprised me. But my Schieva says it's not a big job, he would do it with me in my house in one day...

One more thing on the topic of acceptance: Does anyone know if it is permitted to carry out or have the final construction cleaning done before the acceptance? Or should I clarify this with the general contractor? Currently, these are basically still "their" windows and they would be liable for scratches, am I allowed to simply do something to them already? Theoretically, something could also be damaged during cleaning - or rather not? The other side of the coin is that in the case of dirt, some defects might not be recognizable.
