Building a retaining wall in the garden: formwork stones or L-stones?

Apart from that, it will be cheaper if the civil engineer with his heavy gear only has to come once and you share the support 50/50. This is also fair despite the ratio (1m / 2m), as your neighbor has to put in much more effort if your 1m is added on top.

But as I said, it will look downright hideous... maybe it will be more bearable if you take it with humor and decorate the wall with "Die Mauer muss weg" and similar slogans...
... better would be a terraced garden on both sides of the border, also because of rainwater retention.

Since it has been said so far "we won't put a 3m wall there" and the graphic on page 3 at least suggests a terracing on the neighbor's side, I could imagine that the neighbor plans at least 1-2 steps in some form. But no one knows for sure.

Then that would fit. The wall still needed would of course be built together in consultation.

It would look something like this.

B should build first. Taking into account that A still wants to register his load in B's soil mechanics.

Is the terrain really that steep?
I'm asking again, are such extreme terrain modifications allowed at the border on your side? Have you already submitted a building application?

If A builds first, B can only build with significant additional effort.

Costs for A 15k, costs for B 45k. But only if B builds first.

Together A+B is then also easier.

But B has already built, probably without considering A's requirements because A had no time or desire to talk to B beforehand.

If I read the OP's earlier posts, the house has already been standing for about 2 years. Was there also something about terrain modeling in the building application?
