Building a retaining wall in the garden: formwork stones or L-stones?

What did he pay that for? What kind of wall did he build? How did he prepare the substrate? What did he pay for that? Which federal state?

Well, because the impression so far was "I don’t care/know what the neighbor is doing" and coupled with statements that everything there is unsecured so far. I suspect that if you don’t plan anything together and he, in case of doubt, first arranges his support in such a way that it supports his 2 meters and then you come along afterwards wanting to add another meter, then when building your wall it will have to be considered that his support is still sufficient. My layman’s understanding would be at least that if a lot has been dug away there, then there is little pressure against your foundation and it would have to be deeper. Of course, if his support is originally designed to withstand significantly more pressure from your fill, then maybe not... But the people don’t mean you any harm when they ask what your neighbor is doing or how you both envision it overall.
