It will probably not be avoidable with RC 6 windows, fences, [Überwachungstechnik]. Sometimes there is a bit of vandalism, which is even insurable, and that's why tens of thousands are spent that still don't help.

I also find the course of the discussion a bit strange. My question really wasn’t totally off the mark. Ultimately, it’s about this: What do I need to consider so that as many situations as possible that might arise can somehow be managed when I’m not there? And also in later times, when my parents might no longer be able to take care of things. For example, I need a notification if the heating fails in winter. I have sensors for all sorts of things, but the indoor temperature in the house is not measured anywhere. I have now solved this with a simple GSM socket with a temperature sensor.

I want to have the certainty at all times that problems that arise can be solved, and that I don’t have to cut a vacation short, for example. It’s really not that hard to understand, is it?

I actually don’t really understand that. The people I know who leave their houses unoccupied for longer periods either pay companies that take care of everything and regularly check that everything is alright, or have agreements with their neighbors to do so regularly. In cases of absence over several years (due to professional stays abroad), I also know someone who paid their neighbor compensation for this effort. I consider it not feasible to protect an entire house against all eventualities. Individual rooms, yes, but not a whole house.

I know someone who does house sitting. All good. No other fuss. The house is occupied, the plants are watered, the stranger cat is chased away. Without blank cartridge [emoji4]
