Hello,
I would like to get a garden shed. It should store various garden tools, gardening equipment, children's toys, a garden table + chairs, and possibly plants. My garage is getting too full with this stuff. The shed should have about 12 to 16 sqm of space, a double door, a floor threshold ramp, and possibly a window.
It should be a shed made of PUR sandwich panels/isopanels, metal, or WPC/HPL material. Wood is not an option for me. (Because I would have to paint and maintain it regularly.) Metal sheds are offered, for example, by the companies Biohort and Wolff Finnhaus. I have already obtained some offers from them.

[*]How can I get these sheds cheaply? I have heard that you can plan and build these sheds yourself. Is that true?
[*]How can I attach various shelves and brackets in such a shed?
[*]What should be considered when building or choosing the sheds?
[*]How are the sandwich panels attached?
[*]Are there perhaps some reasonable tutorial videos about self-construction (material selection, cutting, installation of windows, assembly of the shed)?
[*]Does anyone among the users maybe have built a shed themselves and can provide me with some photos?

Thank you very much for the help.

Tobias

If you want to build/plan yourself, you won't get around wood. Among the manufacturers you mentioned, there are many different models, but they do not offer individual planning. Wood is only maintenance-intensive if you skimp on the material. If you use something durable like larch/thermally treated spruce right away, you'll have peace of mind. I also built a little house myself, see Tutorials... no idea. You should just have one or two saws and a basic understanding of woodworking, then it's not rocket science.

Hi,
we have a Biohort "Casa Nova". They advertise it as an "outbuilding", as a tool shed it is indeed total overkill. It consists of sandwich panels, etc. You can easily build it yourself, the instructions are very good. You need 2 helpers and one day.
It comes in your dimensions, also with windows, double doors, etc. There are all kinds of brackets for shelves, bicycles, tools, mothers-in-law..., it's really very well thought out, it makes an engineer's heart smile.
There is only one problem: the price!
With your wish list, expect a price easily in the five-figure range. As pure storage space, in my opinion, it is clearly too expensive.

We bought it at a hardware store as a display model for 1/3 of the original price. However, I had to dismantle it there and rebuild it at home. And it already had some scratches. But over the last years some more have come anyway.

Best regards,

Andreas

We built one out of wood, with a kit. The requirement was a modern look, very stable and durable. Wall thickness 35mm, dimensions 3 by 4m. The house 4k and 1k the color. You should have peace of mind for 15 years. Let's see. So far we are very satisfied, after a few years still like new.

As long as it's only the exterior painting, you could still build with wood, then use a formwork without wood, there are plenty of options for that. Indoors, I find wood quite pleasant because you can simply screw something in anywhere or expand it etc. Moreover, you don't have to paint the wood, it takes a long time for the hut to collapse due to not painting.

I already said, it should not be a wooden house. Wood expands or contracts depending on the temperature. My neighbor told me that it can sometimes be up to 5 cm.

The Biohort CasaNova is a top product, but much too expensive for a storage room.

Does anyone among the users have a metal tool shed or a tool shed with sandwich panels and can provide me with some photos and information about it?
