Hello everyone,
we have been living in our house for 6 months now (KfW 55, although the heating demand is closer to KfW 40) and we are actually totally enthusiastic about the indoor climate and the feeling of living with underfloor heating (operated by an air-water heat pump). The underfloor heating runs completely problem-free for us and seems to be well adjusted, at least consumption is controlled and the temperatures in the house are almost always right. We do not have central or decentralized ventilation, we ventilate traditionally through windows. So far so good.
The only "problem" is the bedroom (about 17 sqm): it has a north/west orientation and is not directly heated (ERR set to 0), because even with the door closed it already gets "too warm". Currently, we have about 21-22 degrees in the house, which is also the desired temperature. But in the bedroom we would like only 16-17 degrees, at 20°C I can do without the duvet :D But we absolutely cannot manage that... Before going to sleep, we usually cross-ventilate for about an hour, then the temperature drops to about 13-14 degrees (actually already too cold), but then quickly rises again and is nearly 20 degrees in the morning. This leads to waking up sweating at night and almost being able to do without the duvet. Not exactly restful... o_O
Sleeping with the window open is unfortunately out of the question, we need it pitch dark and absolutely quiet.
How do you do it? Do you just have to accept this with extremely well-insulated houses, or how do you get the bedroom colder? I can’t imagine that all new-build owners sleep well at 20 degrees, that doesn’t fit at all with the general recommendation "optimal sleeping temperature for adults in the range of 15°C to 18°C"
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I see myself reflected in this post. Since the end of January I have been living in a condominium on the third floor. Basically, all rooms are too warm, especially the bedroom. I air out in the evening and in the morning the temperature is several degrees higher again. The underfloor heating, of course, has long been off in the bedroom. My bathroom is also adjacent to the bedroom. My realtor assured me that the times when you sweat in summer and freeze in winter are over. I would like the bedroom to be below 20 degrees, preferably around 17 degrees. Even though the shutters in the bedroom are down when the sun is shining, I already have 23 degrees in there. If the heat stays above 30 degrees for weeks, I am concerned that it will get even warmer. I had thought a modern KFW 55 house would keep the heat out better. I cannot sleep with an open window, even before moving in. Now no longer either because of the noise from the street, amplified by cobblestones, which is not insignificant. In this respect I am disappointed by the new building. But at least I’m not the only one.
Best regards
Thomas
