Bathroom tiles floor-to-ceiling or half-height tiles?

Unfortunately, my wife saw it differently. We now have it completely halfway up.

My husband also saw it differently at first. My proposed solution: we start it as I suggested. If he absolutely does not like it, we will intervene in time and have additional tiles installed.

I think it also depends on the room. In a bathroom, we will have half-height tiles almost everywhere because otherwise it would be too busy for me: shower fully tiled up to the ceiling, next to it the toilet and washbasin half-height, then a gap, then the bathtub again half-height. Visually, that would be too "jagged" for me. Therefore, the gap between the toilet and the bathtub will also be half-height. In the other bathroom, there is less going on over a larger area, so fewer wall tiles are planned. We both don't like full-height tiles :cool:

That's not entirely true. There are very, very many examples that tile up to the ceiling. For example, us (I posted the planning) :cool: Just enter bathrooms on Dr. Google, and you'll see about 50% of the pictures with floor-to-ceiling tiles.

But just because of the 50%, it doesn't look good or better. But I also wonder why people make such a fuss over something like that

My goodness, don't make it so complicated and take a mental step back: let the builder install the door frame in the toilet, then he has to deal with the mess.

Either you WANT it that way or so*… or you take the lesser evil (included in the price or optimal in terms of the door frame, as you like) Ultimately, it is _so_ irrelevant how the door frame looks on the other side or sideways inside a 2 sqm toilet…. No one looks at that. The guest doesn't care about the tiles anyway, they pee without a fuss. And the owner surely has more worries or tasks than to worry about such a "concern".
