I have a ;) ... and every morning I’m happy when I enter my beautiful, about 9.7m² small (large?) tidy bathroom.
The shower is used 96% of the time; when it gets colder again, I occasionally warm my tired, old, and rheumatic bones in the bathtub while enjoying a good book with musical accompaniment.

For me, it’s impossible not to be influenced by a beautiful appearance
Is that good or bad? I find my tub great (of course a matter of taste) and it’s also comfortable.
There is also enough space around to clean all around it, but that is usually done by my Roomba, occasionally by my cleaning lady.

With us, it was the bathroom planner who vehemently tried to convince me of a freestanding tub. And no – not because he wants to make money. He only sells tiles. :D

I talked him out of it because I see several disadvantages.
- Thinner rim, which I imagine is less comfortable for the arms
- I haven't found one yet in problem lying that can match the comfort of a "regular" one
- Lack of surrounding shelf space, unless you have room to create it with other furniture or built-ins
- Price (I do think it costs several thousand more)

You lucky devil. :) In our new house, we decided on a longer and wider bathtub than before because I expected more comfort. I also tried lying in it, though without water. But now I hardly enjoy bathing anymore because the tub is too long for me, and no matter how hard I try to "stick" under the water surface, I always slide down. And when I try to resist, parts of my body are above the water again. That was a wrong decision on my part. All I can say is, "Keep your eyes open when buying a bathtub." ;-) And I don’t want any plastic cushions or similar in the tub; the pain threshold isn’t high enough for that. For now, I’m still hoping for a physical miracle. :-)

Have you ever heard of a bathtub sofa? They are quite expensive, but they could solve your problem. It would certainly be much cheaper than a new tub. ;)

Oh, thanks, that's a very good tip. I didn't know about it before and will take a closer look.

... there is all sorts of things. Do you mean the one from Badesofa? That's really something. .. in principle, that could really solve your problem and even be comfortable.
