I just spoke with the technical consulting from Meister. Regarding the functionality of the underfloor heating, it does not matter whether it is installed floating or glued. If installed floating, the underfloor heating is only slightly slower to respond.

According to Meister, a bigger problem is the size of the open-plan space. The parquet should not be laid continuously over 10m. That means expansion joints in the form of small aluminum strips or cork strips must be placed in the middle of the room if you want to install floating. If the parquet is glued, this is not necessary.

Oh yes, that's right, for some it is even only 8 m.

There are different opinions about that. In our case, gluing is planned because supposedly the heat conduction between screed and wood parquet is significantly "worse" when not glued.

My common sense(?;)) coupled with my school knowledge tells me that energy cannot "disappear" and that it is – when installed floating – as mentioned above (slower than glued), because: where should the heat go? It stays in the room.

Since this statement has now been repeated, I would like to add that it is not entirely correct.

Ultimately, it’s about heat transfer everywhere, somewhat simplified.
Once between inside and outside through walls, windows, etc.
And between the heating and the interior.
To compensate for heat transfer/loss to the outside, heat must be supplied through the heating.
If the heat from the heating can be transferred "worse," "slower" into the room due to insulation through impact sound insulation, air layers (and parquet itself, which has high insulation), the flow temperature must be higher.
As a result, the system is not only more conductive but also actually consumes more energy!
Furthermore, this can lead to higher losses, e.g., through the floor slab or the basement.

For me, it says something completely different. It's not just about the floor being warm. The room requires a certain amount of energy to compensate for losses through walls, windows, and doors. But if the floor cannot "transport" this energy quickly enough from the heating pipes to the air, the heating system might no longer be sufficient. A higher flow temperature could mean that. How else should the insulation of a jacket, a wall, or something similar work?
