Missing heating room, extractor fan, etc. may be minor details that will come later, since you still feel like you are in a phase where the general direction does not fit at all. At the moment, you don't necessarily have to blame the architect for the last detail missing in the drawing. If you ask another architect how they find a rough draft, it is clear that they will complain.

Why don’t you simply write an email with all your wishes to be considered? These would be things like the windows, bathrooms facing outward, the issue with the wall on the slope. I would even try to do this in a friendly way, because although you have been frustrated, it might not be any better with another architect. If these written lists are not considered, you will have quite different arguments to withdraw. Before you meet for an oral appointment, send a wish list, list of topics, or a general agenda in advance to prepare the architect.

Don’t worry, it will still turn out quite well.

Clarity is important. As the client, you set a framework and manage the project this way. Within that framework, there is enough room for creativity. As the builder, you are the leader. Not everyone is cut out for that – not a problem. Then just get some help. It has nothing to do with “toughness” or “slamming your fist on the table.” A clear mandate is also valuable for the architects; it is difficult to meet someone’s taste if it isn’t clearly communicated. If phases 2 and 3 were completed fairly consensually, it is understandable if the architects now react somewhat surprised.

You talk about mistakes because someone has “torn apart” your draft and you are now unsure. It is still open whether those are actually mistakes. The absence of a heating room is not necessarily a mistake—it is unclear whether one is even needed. Ask the right questions: What space requirements does the heating technology have? Where is it housed?

Regarding the extractor hood, it is also unclear if there is a mistake, because there are good recirculation systems (and reasons for that, e.g. a fireplace in the same room). Ask: Which system for the extractor hood have you planned, what advantages do you see for us? How is the vapour removed?

Sound in large rooms—there are excellent ceiling solutions and other tricks. Ask how they ensure the rooms have a pleasant room acoustics.

Your design wishes must be respected. A wall is a specification—period. If you don’t want narrow windows, then there are wider ones—period. Of course, you can listen to the arguments—but in the end, it is your decision. If the architects see their design “distorted” by this, that is unfortunate but not your problem. Don’t accept services you don’t want. What law should protect you from that (you asked in the initial thread) if you say “yes” too often?

Get a calm, objective, and friendly advisor and take the tips from . Put everything in writing, prepare an agenda for the next appointment. Prepare your questions and formulate clear boundaries.

Super described I would generally be interested in the construction or the current plans. It doesn't seem to be small at all considering the room sizes.

, , ......... I really think it's great that you take the time and answer me at such length, it means a lot to me.

Thank you, I will take many of your advice to heart and work on myself so that I express my wishes more clearly. And above all, I will prepare the lists before I go to the appointment.

Regarding the size, it is really important that I assert myself because if not, I will never be happy with my life again.

If anything comes to your mind that I absolutely should know, including your experiences, please write to me.

@Rick, there are 3 buildings. 1) 140m2 2) 160m2 3) 800m2

I won’t post plans, maybe soon a picture if building finally starts.
