The statement from my bricklayer two months ago was that there is no difference in material price. However, sand-lime brick could be higher in labor costs because it is more difficult to work with.

We only have 11.5 cm Ytong. It's not a major issue, but you can hear it a bit. Well, in our case the living room also borders the bedroom in one corner. So in the evening I have to be a little considerate when the system is on and I’m watching an action movie. I would probably choose sand-lime brick now. But we did the shell construction ourselves, and Ytong is simply better suited for that. It’s easier than sand-lime brick.

So I find our Poroton house including 11 cm and 17 cm interior walls very noisy...

...if I were to build again: definitely no Poroton.

OK thanks for the feedback regarding the interior walls.

To the thread starter
Our architect clearly advised against filled Poroton. It would not be ideal and difficult to work with, as it would always get wet despite covering the wall crowns. We will probably use an unfilled T8 in 36.5.

Yes, go ahead and make the mistake and use T8 in 36.5 cm. Many have done so before you, and many will do so after you. With your second house, you will definitely choose a different brick, promised!

Why is it a mistake?

Is there even an unfilled T8? When I search for "T8 brick" I come across a perlite-filled brick from the brand POROTON.

**Edit: if you are talking about an 11 cm or 18 cm Poroton for interior walls, then this is logically always unfilled (without perlite), right? Poroton is just the brand.

That means you are in favor of aerated concrete for the exterior wall and calcium silicate brick inside?

My mistake, confusion in naming. It is an unfilled hollow brick that the local brick factory calls Klimatherm PL8. Thermal conductivity 0.08.
That would then be the Schlagmann Poroton Planziegel-U8, I assume they are identical.
