Well then, be happy and give yourself a big pat on the shoulder, well done! But others approach the matter differently....

Applause, applause! And again, read carefully: He neither wrote that his portfolio is worth 210k nor that he wants to invest a maximum of 70k. And you know what? I really don’t care either when people add things here that simply are not stated. Just read it properly: I only suggested bringing in more equity because it is possible and reduces the risk – and that even only as another option. I wouldn’t liquidate anything from the portfolio here – that’s also stated in my post. But maybe it’s presumptuous of me to discuss finances with someone who has been paying off their loan for three years. You can’t beat such experience with simple math.

What is the name of the formula that includes Corona short-time work and sick children? I call it experience, and such things are often worth more than bare numbers.

Corona, short-time work, separation, war, serious illness, accidents, company bankruptcies - who wants to continue? Honestly, there is no security. The biggest danger for 90% of builders is probably separation - and although there are so many of them, people still build. I am personally absolutely focused on security, but everyone still has to assess their own risk profile. In the present case, I find it manageable if the OP brings in more equity - which is possible. I haven’t said anything more than that. The OP still has enough buffer for unforeseen events and additional options in reserve with a rate of 1300-1500 euros. I have already seen significantly (!) riskier stories here - which were even recommended. But they didn’t "gamble" on the stock market and their health insurance was not paid by their parents. The forum probably doesn’t like that very much ;)

Since this has come up several times: Are we talking about a private comprehensive insurance or supplementary insurances here? Since you are both employed and should be below the contribution assessment ceiling, I assume that you are normally insured under the statutory health insurance and we are not talking about four-figure sums, right?

correct - supplementary insurance

We will try to get an appointment with various banks next week and discuss it (liquidating the depot sensible yes/no; depot countable as equity yes/no, etc.)

Topic risk:
I could trip on the stairs at home every day and end up in a wheelchair etc.
If that's the standard, lock yourself up and get into the padded cell....
--> There is no guarantee for absolutely anything. Therefore, no house buying, no driving, no more shopping (Corona)? At least for us, that is not a solution
