45 cm sink with a rinse basin in a 40 cm cabinet?

Have the 60 cm base cabinet shortened to 50 cm? Or rearrange the kitchen completely so that there is more space for the sink and then just have a normal base cabinet that is only 40 cm deep? Or bite the bullet that not all wishes can be fulfilled at Ikea (either give up the [Restebecken] or the 60 cm dishwasher) or have to go with another manufacturer.

Then I would try to install a 40 cm sink and instead of the desired extra basin consider a garbage disposal (Yes, I know, it is not explicitly allowed everywhere - Viva la Revolución!)

I love IKEA kitchens. But the grid is sometimes a bit annoying.

If I were you – if it absolutely has to be a [Restebecken] – I would have a suitable base cabinet custom-made by a carpenter. That shouldn’t be too difficult for them. Then just shorten the door(s) from IKEA accordingly and you won’t have any DIY hassle.

Alternatively, of course, you could do it yourself. Shortening a 60 cm sink base cabinet isn't such a big deal; you just need a few tools and have to get a replacement for the metal rail at the top. You would also have to shorten the doors; depending on the decor, that could be difficult.

Since the country-style kitchen Bodbyn will be used, the front cannot be trimmed on any side without it looking terrible.

At least there is an 80x10cm drawer front Bodbyn (60221051); although it is unfortunately not as nicely profiled as the other doors, it is at least the same style and color. You could then firmly mount it on one side, and on the other side, the 40cm door would go on as usual.

I have had this consideration as well. Because the 10 cm front would have to be installed anyway to cover the gap. But if there was a way without completely rebuilding a cabinet, I would much prefer that.
