The setting and adherence to the budget is not about modesty. It is about planning and the repeatedly asked question starting with W., why is the extra needed, what is it good for, do I want or need it? An older couple will certainly not forgo one-meter-wide doors or a walk-in shower, but possibly will on tech gimmicks like voice control of lights or such. A builder on the coast, where even during the current heat period it is always below 30, neither needs air conditioning nor [Raffstores], but a builder in the Rheingau might. Why do I need colored windows? Why glazed roof tiles? Why expensive security doors in rural areas? Why must a courtyard driveway be paved? Wouldn't prettier [Rheinkiesel] work as well? Are there ventilation concepts that have been successful and could replace an expensive controlled residential ventilation system? Why must a floor tile be larger than 60•30? Does the walk-in shower need an expensive glass door, or could it work without one or even with a curtain? Why [kfw 55]? Does the [kfw] subsidy cover the additional costs? These are the questions every builder in commercial construction asks themselves and answers for themselves. Please act the same in private projects. The answer won’t always be the same, but quick decisions when listing options will be avoided, which later turn out to be expensive.
