Hello everyone, the title already describes the problem. About 20% humidity in all living/sleeping rooms. We moved in about two weeks ago. That’s not normal, right? I expected such low humidity in 2-3 years, but not from the beginning... The first night in the house was really horrible. Additionally, we were/have been having a cold and coughing the whole time anyway. We now have a humidifier in the bedroom, which runs all night (starting in the evening, about 12 hours in total) and we wake up with about 35-40% humidity. Maybe something is set unfavorably on the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung], or is this low humidity really normal in such a new house? What can we do? Apart from the bedroom, we don’t notice it negatively in any other room. [Enthalpietauscher] are supposed to add a maximum of +5% humidity?! Thanks for your feedback and best regards

Without the enthalpy exchanger, that is probably normal. Why does the humidifier only run in the evenings?

Clearly, the alternative is to run it all day. I had hoped for a more technically global measure to address the problem. Enthalpy - who has experience here? +5% is not that much.

We have an enthalpy exchanger and normally always 55-60%. Now that it was very cold and dry for another week, it has fallen to around 50-55%. Whether it would be only 5% less without enthalpy in our case, I cannot judge. But I assume that enthalpy brings more and without it, we would rather be at 30%. ;-)

Plants. A lot of them. Not just one per room. Basically, every windowsill must be full and every surface that is not a traffic area must be covered with plants. That way we get to 32% (without enthalpy). My wife then needs an hour to water them, but fortunately it is her passion.

I think that can happen at the beginning. My parents had the same problem in the new house. They also moved in during winter. The technician was there X times because my mother did not want to believe that everything was correct. The humidity was a maximum of 30%. Only after they had lived there for two months did it get a bit better. Cooking, living, doing laundry first had to "acclimate" the very dry materials for a few weeks. I also found it extremely uncomfortable. What kind of furniture and floors do you have? My parents have tiles everywhere on the ground floor, where the bedroom is. With carpets and curtains, it also got a bit better. Now in the second year, they only use the humidifier in the bedroom.
