He writes that the right one is not yet the final door but a construction door. Maybe it won’t be so noticeable with the actual door? Ultimately, Jochen is right though, what does the factory plan say?

That definitely stands out because there is a huge step between the outdoor area and the living area! For me, a clear defect!

Clear defect? If that was commissioned like that in the construction planning, in my opinion it is at most a cosmetic flaw.

I see it exactly the same way. Depending on how it is shown in the work plans, defect or cosmetic flaw.

But if I look at the draft and the picture of the OP, it shouldn't only concern the door but also the windows. In the example picture, all the windows are at the same height, in the current construction pictures the windows in the storage room are at the same height as the door and in the basement they should be higher.

EDIT: What just occurred to me, what kind of doors are contractually agreed upon?

The example photo is somewhat misleading, as it actually looks like the same height here.

Nevertheless: If the height difference was commissioned in the construction planning, then this is clearly not a defect, but execution according to the order. There are always things that the client does not like afterwards. Ultimately, however, the fact is that a craftsman can only implement what has been commissioned. Whether it is nice or sensible is initially irrelevant, as long as no serious problems arise from it. However, I do not see that here at first.

What does make me suspicious, though, is: Why unnecessarily make 2 different heights? Even if you want to save those few cubic meters of concrete, you simply make the excavation pit in two stages. The costs for this are negligible and for that you have a uniform appearance, especially no steps and also continuous walls and ceilings. Even as a layperson, I do think about such things in advance. If you buy an SUV, you also can’t blame the seller later for not telling you that parking spaces are tight and insurance is expensive.

Unfortunately, only the OP will be able to provide clarification. Unfortunately, he has not been seen here since his last post.
