Drainage in front of garage door is missing / correct it? Defect?

The "small" minimal solution would be a channel in front of the door that simply drains into a gravel bed below/next to it... The channel at least also prevents splashes with dirt from reaching the door (which can already be seen now) by "breaking" the water.

However, the gravel bed is only a half-measure because once full, it's full....
Better would be drainage into the rainwater system (or another outlet).

Well, you are currently looking for a defect that most likely isn’t one. The people responsible seem to be, in your eyes, the architect or the general contractor, but the architect basically isn’t responsible for the outdoor area as site manager, unless you commissioned it. Positions 300 and 400 are architect services, the rest are not, and if you didn’t tell the landscape gardener that you wanted an ACO channel in front of the door, then he will build what is stated in the order. Therefore, unfortunately, I cannot tell you what you want to hear. That’s exactly what was meant, no more and no less.

Unfortunately, you have not read the facts correctly. The garage, the aforementioned stair step, and the entire outdoor area as of now have nothing to do with the landscape gardener. He has only been with us for a few days and is doing something completely different. He merely pointed out the defect. I ordered a garage and got a garage with a step in front of it, where water now accumulates. The necessity of a step was never an issue; it was simply there one evening when we came home and was afterwards explained to us as necessary. The architect and the structural builder are involved in this, and no one else, and I wanted to know whether they have caused a defect here. Unfortunately, I have not yet received an answer to that. It is nice that various small solutions are being suggested, but primarily I want to know: Should some kind of drainage have been installed for me or not? I definitely have to do something now because otherwise the garage will flood in winter. Is this a defect or not? Does someone who installs a depression in front of my door without my commission and plan have to install drainage, or is "permeable stone" acceptable?

Without a slope away from the door, drainage gravel alone is not sufficient drainage. In short: planning error.

Yeah, I also see a clear planning mistake there. There is a lack of a slope away from the door as well as drainage for this small pit. When it rains heavily, you have water in the garage, just judging by the outcome it's definitely clear.

Of course that's a defect! Or did you tell the craftsman to build it like that. When I see something like that, I wonder who actually does that! Idiots presumably, craftsmen? No, at least none in this field.
