yes, if they are only about 1.2 m high and you let them grow over.

I would almost file an application for your post

I definitely meant also pure as a fence, not just with the secondary use "trellis".

Yes, we have to see what and how we want to realize, modern, cottage garden, nature????
The pictures are meant as examples so that one knows roughly how it should look, of course everything can be more modern or old etc.

Regarding the wall, yes, we are not sure yet, it was initially a consideration to "cheaply" gain height. We want the plastic strips because we already have neighbors and roads all around and still want to feel mostly for ourselves in the entire garden, i.e., unobserved, of course, that is not completely possible, but at least somewhat.
Do you have another solution? We don’t want bushes/hedges because it takes a long time until they are dense.
(Man, this sounds like we are total loners, but it's not like that, but a little privacy would be great)
On the neighbor's side, we would just leave the soil or cover it with bark mulch if necessary, so the maintenance would be zero.

Regarding budget, exactly that is the "problem." Neighbor 1 already has a hedge, so we would not put up a fence there at first; if he removes the hedge, we will put up a fence. With neighbor 2, we hope that he puts up the fence before us, then we don’t need one there either (of course, he might have the same idea, but we just hope). Then we would have 75m of fence, which is still quite a bit, but what can we do?
I will take a closer look at the cottage garden/natural garden, thanks for the tip.

Many thanks also for the other information, as mentioned, we are still thinking about what and when and how we want to do things.
Best regards

Yes, exactly one thing at a time. That’s how we thought about it too, we already created a priority list: - Cistern + well - Terrace - Fence around the entire property - Paths initially with bark mulch or gravel - Flower beds - Children’s area (this may change in order, depends on when the children come and are old enough to play) - Shrubs, trees - Terrace roofing - Pool approx. 6x4m?? (size not yet fixed), earliest in 6-10 years!! Regards
