Phew Ytong that is not good. Don’t understand why people build with it, there is so much better.

I am retracting my opening statement since Blaupuma wrote the same.

Sorry, I didn't want to start a new fundamental discussion now. But I will summarize again: there are many ways to build an exterior wall – I have also learned that here.

That can be sand-lime brick with external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS), which we basically find acceptable, but unfortunately not so open to insulation. I don't want combustible hazardous waste on the house wall. But it can also be hollow bricks or pumice stones.

Or also aerated concrete. For us, it is the monolithic and building physics best option. Sound insulation completely sufficient with PP4 (sand-lime brick sometimes has similar values). Thermal insulation very good. The house breathes. Price-performance ratio is okay. Stability is certain, as it is even suitable for multi-story buildings. It will definitely hold our two-story city villa and even the kitchen cabinet.

I am also interested in the Ytong ThermStrong.

According to which Energy Saving Ordinance standard do you build with the ThermStrong at a u-value of 0.26?

What kind of surcharge was mentioned to you compared to the standard stone? (No idea if the prices are the same everywhere, but according to the online catalog, the ThermStrong is about 40% more expensive)

Build like everyone currently according to the Energy Saving Ordinance 2014 including the tightening 2014. The Therm Strong PP4 -0.50 is cheaper than the PP2 -0.35 because of worse insulation values. But it doesn’t differ much. About €3 / m3 - according to my research for free sale on the internet.

According to the price list Therm Strong PP4 -0.50 (u: 0.26) about €261.80 / m3 and the Therm Super PP2 -0.35 (u: 0.21) €256.20 / m3.

My reference block was, as the name suggests, the ThermStandard

(each with a width of 365)

ThermStandard Ytong PP 2-0.35 λ:0.09 U:0.23 192.10 €/m3 47.3 dB
ThermStandard Ytong PP 2-0.40 λ:0.10 U:0.26 178.40 €/m3 49.1 dB
ThermStrong Ytong PP 4-0.50 λ:0.10 U:0.26 261.80 €/m3 51.3 dB

The blocks with better insulation values compared to the ThermStandard are of course more expensive.
ThermSuper Ytong PP 2-0.35 λ:0.08 U:0.21 256.20 €/m3 47.3 dB
ThermUltra Ytong PP 1.6-0.25 λ:0.07 U:0.18 316.60 €/m3 43.0 dB

each plus VAT.
