Not to be underestimated is also the aspect that more light comes through a fixed window! In the hallway, the only window I would make fixed glazing, all others I would still like to be able to open despite WRL. Either for the mentioned quick ventilation for fart smells, but also to let the cool morning air cool down the house in summer!!! Oh yes, and sometimes it’s nice to be able to shout from the children’s room to the garden instead of going out into the garden! So think carefully about where it is really practical, (saved) money is not everything

Well, I would have several bad feelings about it: 1. you feel trapped. 2. opening windows in spring and summer is simply part of life's happiness 3. quick ventilation becomes impossible 4. resale of the house practically only possible *** with new windows 5. cleaning, even by an external company, is more complicated and expensive - all the saved money goes on that I'm sure I can think of more reasons if I think about it further. So I wouldn't do it. Best regards!

So, we have now made a decision and been able to compare quite a bit. To avoid leaving the thread for interested parties hanging in "nothing," here is our conclusion...

The price difference for a fixed-glass window is between €120 - €160 (including VAT) depending on the window manufacturer. Since in our basement there is the possibility to open a door to the outside in almost every room, all windows here are fixed-glass! In our case, we are talking about 11 windows and a cost saving of about €1700. Upstairs, all windows are equipped with a "normal" tilt-and-turn function. The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs; we don't want to give up the option of shock ventilation. Easier cleaning is probably part of it too!

I have to say that we immediately spent the €1700 savings again. Our kitchen is getting a round arch, and in this, two doors will be installed that can only be opened from the inside (north side). This way, in summer one can maybe still go through the kitchen to the garden. Round arch similar to this:

Many thanks for the answers, and maybe it will help one or the other again.

Thanks and greetings
